Hello and welcome back to my blog. I am pumped after having some well needed time off! That’s what I should be saying but I didn’t as we were frantically decorating and re-modernising our New Hair Salon! It’s been an exciting couple of weeks but exhausting, I am now looking forward to getting back to some normality and do what I enjoy doing, chatting to you guys! I thought I would kick off January with what Beauty products have stayed in my Make-up bag and that I use regularly. So lets get on with it.
My Beauty Staples
My first Beauty staple is My Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. I reviewed this back in May and I have used it everyday. I love the pigmentation of all the colours. I use the three lighter shades to set my highlighting and then contour with all three of the darker shades. It really is a super palette and well worth the price tag. It is a firm favourite for me and will be staying in my Make-up bag for Now!.
My second Beauty staple is my Loreal Infalliable foundation. I reviewed this back in July and have used it continuously since. I know there has been mixed reviews on this product and at times I did find it a little drying as it is a matt foundation, but I overcame this by putting a little highlighter cream or couple drops of facial oil, just to give the product a little workability. I feel this foundation gives such a nice cover for the price point and it has a nice feel to it, definitely worth a try.
My Third Beauty Staple is Maybelline Brow drama. I bought this back in June and I instantly found it to be a gem of a eyebrow product. It has been a firm favourite in my make up bag, and has taken a fair beating as you can see from the packaging! The colour is spot on. Normally the colours for blondes can be on the warm side, but most people are on the cooler side. I need not of fretted as this one has a great cool tone and works well in not only taming the brows but also giving them a little definition.
My Fourth Beauty Staple is another Maybelline product and that is the Master Precise liquid eyeliner. It took me weeks to get hold of this product as it was always sold out at my local Boots and Superdrug. Then a trip to Manchester City Centre and I was able to get my hands on this fantastic liner, I actually bought two so as not to run out anytime soon. The nib is super fine so you can easily achieve your winged liner. Also the durability and inkness is really good quality for the price point. If you are in the market for a liner, give this one ago.
My Fifth Beauty Staple is MAC Paint Pot in the shade Painterly. I use this everyday to prime my eyelids to help make them ready for shadow. I have quite blue veined and oily eyelids, so I really need a base to hide all this. This product has no problem doing this and leaves a smooth blank canvas for me to work on. It is a little pricey and I believe that Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo has something similar so that might be worth a try. With that all being said I still think it is well worth the money as I have had mine for at least 18 months and it is still going strong.
My Sixth and Seventh Beauty Staple is Illamasqua Pencil in Vow and Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. I will talk about the Illamasqua Eye Colouring Pencil in Vow. I use this pencil to line inside my water line when it is red from lack of sleep (joys of having three children). Its durability is brilliant and I love the creamy, pinky tone it has as it really makes your eyes look natural. I also use this to go under my brows to frame or carve them out and it gives them a well needed structure. The Real Techniques Miracle Sponge is a stonking good dupe for the Beauty Blender. Mine is a little battered as you can see from the picture, as my two year old son thought it was a teething toy!. The material is obviously a little different but it really holds its own for only £6.99. If you want to get back into sponges (which I recommend you do) then give this one ago first to see how you like the finish it gives.
My Eighth and Ninth Beauty Staple is Real Techniques Setting Brush and Bold Metal Range 100. The setting brush is just the right size to set your under eye make up or to place highlighter on the cheek bones. For me I have to have this with me for touching up on the go. The Bold Metals brush is a luxurious treat. It’s a soft, plumped brush that is weighted to give you more control over the brush. I use this to buff my foundation in and to add blusher or bronzer. Gorgeous brush.
So there are my Beauty Staples for 2015. These items are firmly in my make-up bag and I just think they all have so many uses.
What has been your beauty favourites for 2015? Are there any you think I should try? I would love to know, please leave your comments below. Also don’t forget to keep up with all my goings on, on all my social media.

I have been on a mission lately to try and find an affordable alternative to my favourite highend products. Admittedly its been a challenge. Although the Drugstore has tried to compete with the big boys of make-up land, they always seem to be a little behind. I have though, found some goodens for you and I wanted to share with you what I had found. As a Make-up Artist its kind of a given that clients expect if they are paying for your services that they want you to use all highend products, and as a rule they are superior but now and again the highstreet comes back with a great product for half the price and knocks the highend products right out of the park.
Contouring and highlighting has dominated make-up trends for a few seasons now and even though the makeup world has moved on to more of a flushed cheeks for A/W15, it is still my most requested technique (check out my review on fav Highend Contour and Highlighting products). I wanted to find a affordable alternative and finally I came across Maybelline Master Sculpt in Light/Medium. The contour colour is a cool tone taupe, which is perfect for pale skin tones. I wouldn’t say it was matt, more of a satin finish with slight flecks of glitter in it which is o.k, but I would of preferred a matt. The payoff is subtle, so you would really need to layer the powder to get a stronger definition. The highlighter is nice, its a white champagne colour and it gives a subtle radiance to the skin, for me not striking enough as you all will know, that my highlighter has to be seen from space so this doesn’t cut it for me, but it would be perfect for a daytime look. With that being said it is a great afordable alternative and if you are looking for something that wont break the bank but that will give you killer cheek bones then this would work well for you.
Concealer is always a big deal for me. I love trying to achieve a flawless complexion and always on the hunt for a great affordable alternative. Revlon has in my opinion really been uping their game in cracking the younger market with having the likes of Emma Stone and YouTube favourite Tanya Burr promoting their products. I wanted to try their Revlon Colorstay concealer to see for myself. The coverage is good, its creamy and blends easily. My only complaint and this is minor, is that it creases a little under the eye, which I suffer with. There are only a handful of concealers that dont do this, but if you don’t suffer from that then it’s a really good little concealer for the price point.
Drugstore eyeshadow palettes can be a little hit and miss. I recently came across this affordable brand called Make-Up Revolution, which is sold online and also in Superdrug. This brand for the price point has really got their A game on with their eyeshadow palettes. The two I have been trying is Iconic Pro 2 and Redemption Palette Iconic Elements. The Iconic Pro 2 has 16 shadows 8 matts and 8 shimmers. They are so pigmented and I have had such a ball in creating some great looks. The shadows are buttery and blend well with hardly any fallout. The other palette Redemption Palette Iconic Elements is a perfect first palette. It has 12 Matts. ranging in cool to warm tone browns. This palette would be perfect in creating the 60’s eye make up look worn by Adele recently. Now here comes the shocker, they only retail at the Redemption Palette at £4.00! and the Iconic Pro Palette at £6.99!!. I would get your hands on this fast as I feel it is a staple in anyones make up collection.
So that was a quick review on some fantanstic affordable make-up that is on the highstreet at the moment. What affordable products have you been using and loving lately? Leave me your comments below and don’t forget to find me on all my social media channels on what has been happening in the week.

Its that time of month again, its time for my “favourite things” (sang in my best Julie Andrews impression) I think we all blinked and October has been and gone. I will be talking about all manner of things I have been enjoying this month.
My first favourite product for the body, is Eucerin Intensive Moistriser. I suffer from KP, Chicken skin or if we are going to get techincal Keratosis Pilaris. It’s when you have those rough, raised red spots either on the back of your arms or back of your thighs, or if you are really unforunate, on both!. These are caused by lots of reasons but who cares why, you just want to get rid of it, am I right? So, there is a very clever little chemical called Lactic Acid which will gently exfolliate the skin and remove these little blighters in the process. Trying to find a moistriser with Lactic Acid is hard enough and when you do they are quite pricey. Then I came across this beauty Eucerin Intensive Lotion in my local Boots. I have been using this now for the past three months, only on the backs of my arms. I do have it on the back of my thighs but I dont tend to wear short skirts as I’m now on the wrong side of thirty-something and I figure that I’m the only one who see’s them apart from my enduring husband. Anyway back to the product. I have been so impressed with the results. My skin is smoother, softer with no irritable bumps in sight. And because I only use this on my arms it has been lasting me for a while and still has no fear of running out.
My next favourite has been the new product range we have in our salon Richard Hall Styling which is Bumble and bumble. Obviously I am biased as my husband and I chose them because I was so impressed with the extensive styling range and luxurious shampoos and conditioners. I’ve focused on the one that is for my hair which is the Hairdressers Invisible Oil Shampoo. This product is sulphate free which is great as it is gentle on coloured hair. You also only need to shampoo once! which is completely alien to me as I normally have to wash three times and then end up running out of shampoo before conditioner (which is very annoying). It cleanses the hair beautifully and sets it up nicely for then using the conditioner, which leaves the hair silky soft. Once a week I have been applying Mending Masque as I have been cleansing my hair and pre-lightening (bleaching to you and me!) and it has suffered somewhat because of the beating it has been recieving. Using the Mending Masque has really helped to restore it back to its former glory and you would not even know whats it has been through. For styling I keep it minimal, and use the queching complex which supersaturates the thirsty hair and helps to give strengh and shine. Now this is where I was really interested as Bumble and bumble use….. Primers. Yes you heard me, Primer for your hair. Being a Make-up Artist I was intrigued to see how this would work. It works as a base to enhance the use of other products to assist in the longevity of the style you want to achieve. Genius, I thought, and it works! Not only has it softened, detangled, de-frizzed my hair, it also protects against damage, heat styling ,and UV damage. Now thats a hard working product!.
My favourite Fashion piece for October, is my beautiful Super Soft Scarf from Topshop. What drew me to this scarf was the unusal colour. It’s like a faded khaki green colour, of which you don’t see this shade around much, so I had to snap it up. Its so warm and comforting, I cant stop wearing it.
So, there is my Favourites for October. Have you tried or heard of Bumble and Bumble? Let me know in the comments and also what have been your favs for october so I can see what you guys have been enjoying too.

Hello! and welcome back to my new little bit of space on the internet where I talk about all things Beauty, Make-up, Make up Tutorials, Fashion Outfits, Style Tips, Food and a little bit of Travel. I started NaybeautyMUA out of a sheer need for escapsim. I have been a Make-up Artist and Fashion Stylist for almost the last three years and before that I worked in retail with the likes of Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Wallis, so I have always had a interest in beauty and fashion and found it a great little breather from the wonders of motherhood. After the birth of my third child, I got into reading blogs just to keep up-to-date with new techniques and releases, but found that although I love reading twenty something year olds reviews there was hardly any reviews from the over thirties, I felt I could offer something or a least a different opinion. Generally most over thirties may have started a family or landed that dream job that they had worked so hard in their twenties to attain. With that in mind, time starts to become a little thin on the ground, but you still want to look and feel good. You may not have the same amount of time as you used to have, this is where I step in. Over the last ten years when I first started my family, I learnt how to get around things quicker in make up and how to dress for my shape and colours that suit, as it changed constantly after every child. So I started NaybeautyMUA and I found it gave me a little brain fodder in the evenings. As much as I love raising my family, some days you literally feel your brain will explode if you hear another round of “round and round the garden like a teddy bear”! As my blog has grown over the last few months I decided I like doing this and people actually like reading it! So it seemed a natural step to take it to the next level and here I am!.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you will join me in our girly chats every week. Dont forget to click on my social media icons and why not subscribe to keep up-to-date daily with all the goings on at NaybeautyMUA.

Its true to say that My August Favourites just completely past me by. I was determined this month for that not too happen, as I have so much to tell you about the new skincare items I have been using for the last 12 weeks. I always like to make sure that I give the products a good go to really test their metal as it were. First off the bat is my Facial cleanser, Soap and Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser. I mentioned this in My July Hit or Miss on Beauty and Skincare take a look.
My next find literally made me feel sick as I handed my money over to the girl on the Charlotte Tilbury counter, for Charlotte’s Magic Cream, it is admittedly a little pricey, but boy does it pack a punch! This jar of wonderfulness is so multitasking in its ingredients it makes us women who are renowned for our multitasking prowess into well …A MAN. I have so far not come across a cream that really made me gasp when I read all it can do. So here we go, in this cream there is Bio-nymph peptide complex which fights for the skin on the anti ageing front. It stimulates collagen production and cell energy and fights free radicals, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and smooth the skin. A hyaluronic acid booster called Sodium Hyaluronate which engulfs the skin with moisture, an infusion of rose hip oil and vitamin E, now if you have been reading my blog for a while you will know anything that has Rose Hip in naturally gets my attention.
Charlotte Tilburys MAGIC CREAM has an SPF15 which if you are using the Nip+Fab Glycolic cleansing pads then you will need this. A mix of rose hip oil, camellia oil and anti-oxidant vitamin E which helps to transform the skin from a grey complexion into hydrated, mirror-shine skin, nourishing Vitamin A helps improves skin firmness and smoothness and energetic Vitamin C is able to promote collagen activity for more youthful skin.• Damask rose water and organic aloe vera benefit skin regeneration. I love in this part where Charlotte discribs “Extracts of Frangipani, the symbol of eternity, form a soothing, purifying and hydrating comfort-blanket on the skin”. This instantly makes me what to slather this all over my face to experience this “comfort blanket”.
Next in line is my nightime cleanse or the first cleanse with Ponds Cold Cream, apparantly Kylie Minougue uses this and if its good enough for Kylie, well its good enough for me. I slather this over my made up face and work it into the skin. It slowly melts the make up and then I take a cotton pad drenched in a micellar water ( I will have a post up soon on the best Micellar water) and swipe over my face to remove the cream. I really like the cream it does the job of removing your makeup and also leaves your skin feeling soft and plump and for only £5.49 from Boots great little find.
I then swipe over my face the Nip+Fab Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads. This is new to me all the Glycolic acid melarkly, but it does intriugue me to how it works. It works by giving you a gentle face peel. “PEEL” you say “im only swiping cotton wool pads over my face not striping it”. I know, I said the same but I did my research and these are amazing things. It contains Glycolic Acid which is brilliant for the following it safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells bringing new skin to the surface. This is benefical for those who are looking for ingredients that help with anti-aging, Glycolic acid can help also help lighten discoloration of the skin, like sun spots or age spots and help those with acne prone and blackhead prone skin. It retextures and resurfaces to give your skin a brightening effect, Hyaluronic acid which moisturises and refreshes, and blue daisy which soothes and calms. My skin within a week looks brighter and my age spots on my cheek disappeared. My skin feels so smooth and I have less blackheads. The only downside if you are using Glycolic Acid you need to make sure you use SPF on your skin to protect it from the suns rays, as it can be vunerable.
I then smooth over The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Concentrate Serum. I had heard about this in the bloggersphere and it was on my list next to try when my No7 serum had finished. It a lovely serum smoothes, freshens, and feels more supple.I really like the packaging on this instead of a perpet it has like a button you press at the top to draw the serum up, just a little something different which i like. My final product that i put on before i finally get into bed is Drops Of Youth The Body Shop Bouncy Mask, sounds fun doesnt it? It is, check out my post on this in My July Hit or Miss on Beauty and Skincare to get the full load down.
So there you have it my current skincare favourites. Have you tried any of these? Can you recommend any of your favourites that you think i should try? I would love to hear from you.
